Report from the local Ormskirk and Skelmersdale Advertiser, When did the TOWN bit get added or is the reporter some dimwit.. Burscough Town given three weeks breathing space to settling debt Jan 27 2010 UNIBOND Premier Division side Burscough Town will next month face winding up moves at London's High Court, over an unpaid debt to Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs. At a brief hearing today, Mrs Registrar Derrett adjourned the winding up moves brought against the club for 21 days to give an opportunity for the taxman's lawyers to "put the papers in order" so that the petition can proceed. The ruling gives the club 21 days breathing space to settle the undisclosed debt. If the debt is not paid by then, a Registrar is likely to make a winding up order against the club unless good reason is given. If the club is wound up, its affairs would effectively be handed over to an Official Receiver. His job is then to do his best to ensure that debts are paid off by selling any assets available and then bringing business to a close. What do you think of the situation?
