Oh the good old days................
Remember going up to Barrow on the 'players' coach to play their reserves in a Lancashire Combination fixture. Shows how long ago, but M6 was only open to Carnforth. Keith Reader's dad provided a load of sandwiches for the long journey north. The players asked us to carry the large kit basket in, so that we could get in for nothing. On the way home we stopped off for a meal at ex-Skemmer Jim Tootle's pub in Milnethorpe. The players paid for ours. Absolutely brilliant. Can't remember the game or result, but the occasion certainly sticks in the memory.
