FA Vase 1st Round, having got to the 4th round previous season, this away trip looked easy pickins. The team bus with about 10 supporters made the long trek up to the North East. On arrival we called at the pub situated just outside the ground, bit of a rough house to say the least a bit intimidating we were all getting quite settled when some bloke pulled out a 12 in meat clever !!! sharp exit by all, the pub over the road wasnt much better, so headed into the ground at about 1.30, no charge as we had 10 freebies. There we were made very welcome, heading over to the tuck shop and purchased one of the pies, beautiful !!.
The teams came out, the home side in various shades of red, odd socks this was going to be easy. Their supporters of which there were very few were unsure of some of the players, even the players were unsure, one player was called two different names that I was aware. We absolutely battered them but could find a way through. We had the ball in the net but somehow the linesman (as they were still called then)waved play on !!!!. then the sucker punch.....they scored and we lost. Unbelivable.
But the pies were nice !!! I managed to consume 7 beautiful !!
The long trip home was not full of doom and gloom, the players bought a couple of crates in and were despatched around the coach, many a song sung and many a pit (piss)stop made. A very memorable day but for the wrong result.

You must be joking the worst game of football Ive ever seen,played on the worst ground and pitch in football,a long trip to come home with nothing against a team of no hopers but still thats football for you, see you soon mate

but its a match that sticks in the Head
