The attendances have had an alarming drop of late, End of season, pushing for a promotion spot.!! Like for like over the past 4 years Team..............2009-10...........2008-09.....2007-08....2006-07 Wakefield.......185.....-58.......... 243..........225...........204.. Clitheroe....... 261.....-82.......... 343.........258...........285.. Mossley..........212.....-13.......... 227.........266................... Chorley........ ..216.....-36.......... 252.........271/312....259.. From Last season there is a 24% drop with Wakefield and Clitheroe, a 15% drop with Chorley and a small drop against Mossley. Radcliffe -30+%, Bamber -30%, Colwyn Bay -17% More to the point attendances are lower than that from 2006-07. Where are the missing fans and why ?? On the plus side both Lancaster (+134) and Halifax (+339) attendances were up 60+ % Attendances on the whole is 10% down on last season 2009-10 Total 5,722 Average 272 2008-09 Average 296

Let's focus on the positives for a change...
We're in the play-offs for the 3rd consecutive season.
In the last two seasons we've won the Lancashire Challenge Trophy, and qualified for the final of the Liverpool Senior Cup.
Our gates have dropped by 8%, but you have to remember that last season we were going for the title rather than the play-offs.
We still have the third best attendance record in our division, bettered only by FC Halifax Town and Colwyn Bay. (Bay's has dropped by 6% incidentally)
We also had one of the worst cold snaps in my lifetime, and some of our better attended games on Saturday's have since been played on a Tuesday night when traditionally less people come anyway...oh and we were also in the grip of a recession at the time!
Swings and roundabouts!!!
A great season - one to be applauded.
Can I just add a big thank you to everyone who's supported the club over the season, because support is vital at any level but particularly ours.
Let's look forward to the play-offs!

Nothing negative, just stating the facts
Yes we have made the play-offs for the third year. and yes should be applauded.
Yes there has been a cold snap, but NOT of late where attendances and not the temperature have plummeted. (other teams to have had the cold snap and recession!!)
Average attendance 2009-10 268.............high....966,....low...195 2008-09 293.............high....588,....low...205 2007-08 296.............high....674.....low...166 2006-07 233.............high....429,....low...165 NWCounties 2005-06 251.............high,...518.....low...112
In 2007-08 we were battling for the play-offs, an average on this season is still 10% down. Taking into consideration the High of Halifax and Lancaster (+473), the mean attendance is considerably down more than the 10% (If you take Halifax and Lancaster as per last seasons attendance the mean figure would work out at an average of 249 which is less than the NWCounties days of 251)
Going for a Play-off place, you would like to think that the attendances would be at least the same as previous seasons!!!
Admittedly a host of other clubs have seen a rise or fall in attendances, mainly due to the following of Halifax and Lancaster.
Our away following however holds up with the rest. 2009-10 away average 2008-09 away average 241 2007-08 away average 285 2006-07 away average 170 2005-06 away average 119

I think you'll find that a lot of the clubs that brought bigger followings last season, have brought less this term. Also teams like Wakefield brought very few with them becuase of the travelling involved on a Tuesday night - they brought a lot more last year when it was on a Saturday.
There was a lot of publicity concerning certain players moving into the football league last year as well, which generated a lot of local interest. At one stage we had over 20 scouts coming on a regualr basis!
Like I say though we were so close to winning the title last season that people were coming out of the woodwork to watch us.
I think considering our poor home form at 'Stormy Corner' we've managed to do quite well with our attendance figures - and as I say third in the table as regards to attendances behind the teams I've mentioned is pretty impressive. As for those that have shown an increase, they're fairly marginal and probably due to the fact that FC Halifax have been taking more supporters to away game this season due to their excellent form. I think had we played FC Halifax at this end of the season we would probably be showing a slight increase!
Don't get me wrong I would love the gates to improve, but it's always been swings and roundabouts at this club. When we won promotion to the Unibond gates slumped marginally, although some people thought they would increase dramatically.
It's a great club and we need to get out more and show people that. Perhaps a bit of good fortune in the play-offs will go some way towards waking up our sleepy town!

what do the other teams charge for enterance fee to watch a league game ?
do the league have a levy that you must charge a certain amount? if so how much?
i personally think £5 should be the correct amount to watch home games this would possibly be more realistic given the wages that people are on in the town.

All 3 of the mentioned clubs
Wakefield, Chorley and Clitheroe, The attendances for this season are lower than 2006-07
The attendances for Curzon 195 is less than the 225 (05-06) Trafford 225 is less than the 266 (05-06) Salford 246 again is less than 297 (05-06) 2005-06 we were in NW Counties
If we are to stay in this division for another year, were are we going to get the attendances generated by the likes of Halifax and Lancaster, (We previously had FC Utd.)
Looking at these stats its more imperative that WE DO get promoted.
With a success of the Race Night it is also a must for more of these type events to generate some much needed cash.
Although on a personal note Everything that I (supporters Club)put towards the club was Knocked back, although some have found favour in slightly different guises.

We have the 3rd best attendance in the division but why is it then that we have one of the lowest wages in the division (alledgedly) people keep harping on about other teams paying more than we do, so why Why can they afford the extra wages and we cant ??
