Martin may have left i don't know his name hasn't been mentioned as going. The point i was trying to make is all the rumours about all the players leaving and us looking as though we wouldn't have a team appear to be totally unfounded. Granted it's sad to see some of the players leave but at this level it happens every season.but with Eastham in goal,Ackers and Burkey centre halves. Tne new lad Byrne is down as left back / midfielder so he may be left back.we do need a good right back after losing Fozzy to the yanks.Duffy would do nicely .Azza in midfield poss with Wadey. Amond up front with either the new lad O'Donnell who by all accounts is a big strong no nonsense centre forward something we've needed for a couple of years and with Woollcott and Ledsham out wide things don't look as bad as some people were trying to make out.

Not saying we are going to have a team, more lack of communication from the club regards whos staying and whos leaving and more importantly Whos signing !!! And not hearing it third hand. Its also a bit of a blow when you lose good servants, Whitey and crowd favs Houghton without as much as a wimper !!!!!!! As you rightly say it happens every years players move on No question of not having a team

We had to wait until things had been confirmed, and unfortunately until they tell us directly then we're not in a position to make such statements. There's also an argument that says why should we alert other clubs to their availability - let them do their own homework, but yes I do agree it's not nice to find out from another source, but that even happens when you're the Chairman of the club as well!

Mark left when Tommy was on holiday without so much as a bye or leave and we are still waiting for a call to this day.
Mark had come to the end of his contract, and although Tommy decided not to renew it, Mark was still very much in his plans for the forthcoming season.
It remains a mystery why he has gone to Chorley, because as soon as Flitcroft gets the job he's looking for he'll be off like a two-bob rocket!

Horto scored in first friendly game for Chorley hope we dont end up regretting losing him. Whiteys situation is bewildering to say the least

I've got nothing against Mark but he left the club without so much as a goodbye.
Tommy still hasn't had any contact from him to this day, which is very sad considering the club looked after him very well.
But at the end of the day players leave for all kinds of reasons, and new ones come in and replace them because that's the nature of the business.

I was always under the impression that a manager, at the end of the season would know who he required and who was surplus and let the players know. More out of courtesy than anything else, players then know what is what Maybe a call from our beloved manager or chairman might have gone along way in resolving this. If however Horto was not wanted then "end of".
As for standbangers comment on the other forum "fight for your shirt" when his contract is up at work, will he fight it out, unpaid for 5 weeks to regain his employment ?

Mark's contract wasn't renewed but he was invited back because Tommy told him face to face that he wanted him to come back. For those that don't know a contract player only gets paid from the first day of the season until the last day of the season. We invite players to go on contract if we believe they are good enough to play at a much higher level, and occasionally we produce the likes of Craig Noone, Sean McConville and Georgie Donnelly to justify doing so, but it doesn't always work out like that.
