You may remember me - I came on earlier in the week after the Fylde game, saying that Skems attack was too predictable due to the lack of size and weight in their forward players.
How wrong can I have been......
Today, I saw some of the best football I have seen at any level, in a long time. Today Skem were playing a team at the top of their game, coming off the back of the deflating defeat to Fylde.
Did that defeat affect them - yes, but only from the fact that they moved the ball quicker, they supported the front men earlier, and more importantly they played some delightful football, and were generally more clinical in front of goal.
Witton themselves decided to miss out midfield and hit their front two on the break, whereas, Skem played the ball thru' midfield, and then supported the forwards, and even went beyond them.
Don't want to get too carried away, but if they can replicate this performance, then things are looking bright at Stanley Park, or whatever it is called now.
Well done, on a brilliant performance.
;D
ps And where was the referee, I never noticed him - superb!!
