this forum ?last season there was a lot of contributors - now none hardly. Even the popular prediction league has fallen by the wayside. Where have you all gone - 'nottherealbrynjones'; 'wilko'; 'swampys'; 'chrisdrew'; 'bigE'; 'smithstreetkid'; 'steve'; 'ando' ? Even my auld mate 'forever' has hibernated...... Come on, lets get some sensible discussion back .... and especially as Skem are on a bit of a roll - and the cricket season is over (and I'm bored). zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

butler, I have got slightly bored with parts of Skem Utd and like chrisdrew the £8 is a bit steep, one of the highest in the division, and apparently players wages have been cut, hence the so called mass clearout, again apparently !!
However pleased to see Lee Parle at the club, saw him few years ago and thought he would be the missing link, maybe 3/4 years to late but one can only hope.
Hope to get to a few other games in the meantime, Formby, Bootle, Wigan etc

£7 chorley £8 burscough £9 marine didnt pay at southport taken as a guest i know these are not much better prices than skem charge but i'v got a choice pay £8 for 22 home games =£176 to watch skem or pick and choose who and where i spend my money.
this is no reflection on the skem side just my way of not giving skem utd my money as i thought the price increaces should not of happened.

I pick and choose my games, but got to say the game against Witton Alb was some of the best football I've seen played in a while.

Al lbetter value than Premier League prices though,£45 to watch some of our games, ridiculous that.Do you still go by the way?I'm share mine with our Sean this season. Skem's season tickets don't come anywhere near £172 do they?

A season ticket cost £125 for an adult at the start of the season which represents a value of £5.68 per game...cheap as chips!
We still offer free admission to children, students and the armed services, so I think criticism of costs at 'Stormy Corner' are a bit unfair.
We are trying our best to appeal to families as well as individuals and the only way to do that is protect the upper limit. More success on the pitch will ultimately lead to better facilities, the other way round we'll fall back into the North West Counties and relative obscurity.
It's worth noting that on the football side we had to register for V.A.T. and that particular rate will be going up to 20% in the new year, an increase we weren't aware of at the time but will nonetheless have to absorb.
At the end of the day it is a business and we have to take advice which we deem important. That's not to say that we aren't looking into special offers for future games, but what we have to be careful with is that we don't alienate the diehards who are paying full price week in week out.
When Everton or Liverpool increase their costs they are usually more significant rises than you get at this level, but still people are willing to absorb them, but how many of them have been able to take their kids to a game on a regular basis?
We had to anticipate that gates would drop this season regardless of whether or not we altered gate admission. But fall away support or not we've protected the standard of football, and may I remind people that we are still competitive on the pitch at the right end of the table, and for all those doubting thomases, may I also remind you that this club has witnessed unparralled success over the last three seasons as a semi-professional club, and we would like to see that continue.
If we could've had guaranteed season ticket sales at he beginning of the season, then the supporters could've dictated the cost of admission to a degree, but quite honestly staying away is the wrong attitude to have in my humble opinion.
Keep the points coming but try and make them constructive because I will listen to them then.

only the league games gary blowen out all cup/uefa games
frank i dont wont to get into a slanging match with you but i did say on the skem utd forum that if the addmission price for league matches was around the £5 mark a lot of walk in people could/would proberly turn up as this is a more realistic charge . The fall off in attendances reflects the addmission charges in my opinion this town has low payed employment so £8 is a lot of money to watch skem play, granted people spend more on the ale on a good night out but thats life. I know its a buisiness and you will say skem would proberly go out of buisiness at such low charges but with your season ticket prices only £5.68 per game then the differance is not that great. The standard of football has never been underestimated and all involved at skem utd are doing the club proud. At the start of the season i was unemployed and did'nt have the money to afford a season ticket at that time, so now i pick and choose when i go to watch skem, i still have a 200 club number and keep in touch via this forum and skem utd forum.
