First ten minutes Skem could have had two or three goals. Turner had to go off early in the game. Clitheroe looked clueless in the first half, pumping long balls with the wind, through to the Skem goalie. Skem took the lead early in the second-half, and everybody assumed there would be more. There would have been, without the show-boating. Clitheroe looked far more dangerous in the second-half, and started causing Skem problems. Skem being forced into too many mistakes. Clitheroe scored two in two minutes. Skem picked up the pace a little, and had a couple of half chances, but were unable to get the equaliser. All in all, Skem just aren't clinical enough, and at 1-0 were always open to the sucker punch. Thought that referees had to clamp down on blatant dives - Tom Daly would have been proud of one such dive, but the lad didn't even get a talking to from the referee. Skem certainly miss Turner's energy and drive. Report a bit disjointed - just like the team!!!!

Two points to make about Skems form in the last six weeks.
1- We are getting absolutely crucified by anybody who has got a half decent turn of pace, the lad for Clitheroe who switched from the right to the left wing in the second half completely ripped the back out of Burke and this is happening on a regular basis, thus resulting in Skem trying to often to play the offside game.
2- I wont hide the fact that Almond is my favourite player and i think Skems best player, so i can't understand why he only got on for twenty minutes today, could somebody shed some light on this decision as i am very confused.

Broken record time, Clueless, again a team from top 8/10 takes points of us,play-offs the only chance now These are not the only 2, I could name at least another 2 who on recent performances are not worth their place in the team. At 1-0 today, following some brilliant football down the right, we had an easy chance of making it 2-0 but instead of putting his foot through the ball and taking the chance, he tries a fancy flick, chance gone and within 10 mins we are 2-1 down. Had the chance been taken, and Clitheroe gone 2-0 down, I think it would have been game over. We had a big change of playing staff for this season, and I keep reading that this is a better team than last year. Not in my opinion, nowhere near as good. We have let Karl Ledsham go to Southport, I’m made up for the lad and hope he does well, but that’s left a hole on midfield, and I don’t see anyone to fill it. I have been saying all season that we will struggle to make the playoffs, on recent performances, I see us finishing 7th or 8th which following recent seasons would be a poor season Glad i'm not the only one who has serious doubts about this team

Cut the budget, to rid better higher paid players, put the prices up. Get so called poorer players, reduced attendances
Think everyones in the same boat ??
sums gone wrong

Exactly the same amount of points at this stage of the season compared to last...so if your theory is correct Kev then surely we should be doing far worse on a lesser budget.
The point that was made when admission charges were increased Kevin was that we have absorbed the rise in costs on utility bills for the last two seasons, and then we had to become registered for VAT on the football side of things.
As a committee we had an important decision to make. We either continued to absorb the price hikes or we upped the cost of admission. It was felt at the time that gates would be down this season anyway, and therefore if we weren't proactive we could end up losing even more money.
Had gates gone the other way and increased, I can assure you we would've reviewed our pricing policy...that still stands by the way. For instance - If we get a thousand speccies for our next three home games we could afford to cut the cost of admission.
At the end of the day we are only going to appeal to the people that are really interested in supporting this great club, and I very much doubt that we can force people in by charging less.
Incidentally gates have looked better over the last few seasons because we gave out quite a few complimentary tickets to local companies in order to attract sponsorship...as most of those tickets ended up going out to supporters that would normally pay, we decided to review our marketing strategy.

In reply to Franks post and its good he can come on here and explain the situation rather than supporters second guessing.
My post states
"Think everyones in the same boat ??"
That its just NOT Skem Utd who are faced with these kind of problems, far from it. There are lots of clubs through out the land that are in a financial mess and not just at our level. I think Skem come out well in this department (I hope !!)
Can I just add "Incidentally gates have looked better over the last few seasons because we gave out quite a few complimentary tickets to local companies in order to attract sponsorship...."
If you give out complimentary tickets then you surely cannot count as on the gate as the turnover from them tickets will be NOTHING!!!! Wouldnt that lead to financial irregularities (and NO Im not implying anything underhand by that comment)
I know its different for season tickets as they have pre paid

The point is quality and performance compared to the last 3/4 seasons surely.Stats show that we can't compete against the top teams FACT look at the points tally against the better sides.

Which two players do we miss www?
We came very close to winning this division when pipped by Durham, so we competed well enough to win but fell short by just one point.
Automatic promotion isn't really on the cards looking at the financial clout of Chester and Chorley...fighting talk might intimate differently, but we stand as a good a chance as anyone of going through via the play-offs. We need to work much harder than we are at this moment in time, but I wouldn't write us off just yet!
