Has frank lost the plot ,not only do we have no sky,but now he puts the sle up by 50p a pint.Thats o k if we have live matches on but nothing,I think the club needs to be opened more not just for partys ,people will go elsewere bad management in most peoples opinion

Well over a £1 a pint is paid out in beer duty and VAT by every single customer before it even wets ones lips.
The average pint of lager in Britain is £3.02 – 22p higher than ours on a matchday!
I took a big risk last year when I actually dropped the price of a pint to accommodate the World Cup, despite the fact that we’d absorbed several increases in beer taxation over a period of years.
The simple fact is that we are tied to a brewery and are paying top prices which govern how much we sell at. Add the rising fuel and utility costs into the equation, and you will see that it would be bad management not to increase our prices.
I’d like nothing better than to keep our costs down, but I had no option believe me. As for opening the club other than for functions or football matches it would be financial suicide – fact not fiction!
Sky was axed two years later than it should’ve been to appease the football supporters, but at £6,000 a year, it didn’t bring in enough customers to justify the outlay.
The hike in costs is unfortunate, because at the end of the day we are all watching our pennies, but when you deduct tax, the cost of purchase and all our other overheads, the club is making a very small profit.
