First of all I thank Kev for his contact and apology regarding Frank's article on myself and Colwyn Bay FC in last week's matchday programme.
Having now read the article I would like to apologise for my quoted comments which were made on our forum regarding visiting Skem, I quote "I'm not travelling there, spending £7.50 to get into a building site and putting up with chavs for another piss-poor performance". Perhaps what I wrote was a little harsh as we all know how hard it is to run a football club but I was arguing the point to our own fans that I didn't want to travel for another poor Colwyn performance (which we've witnessed in recent weeks) and not slagging off your club as Frank has taken it.
He has looked on our forum and taken offence but I seem to recall a while back on the other Skem forum there was a lot of harsh posts regarding NBS collapsing (I think it was NBS) yet its ok for that to go ahead without criticism or comment?! Hypocrite springs to mind.
Unfortunately for Frank this "village idiot" did attend the game and finally managed to see the Bay beat a good Skem side on a much improved pitch. If any of you see him tell him that his concern about taxpayers money being wasted on my education is non of his concern (as I'm going back to University to do my masters) as 1. I'm funding it myself and 2. My lovely salary will be paying for a nurse to wipe his backside one day!
The final point which he touched on which I would like to comment on is the statement about chavs. Yes our visit last yearthere were two of our fans who were on the beers and their language was disgusting. Our fans agreed and told them afterwards to tone it down or dont come away again. Yet we spent 80 minutes of the game veing verbally abused by a gang of 20 kids F-ing and blinding whilst a steward stood there smiling so to single out our fans is perhaps a little harsh.
I'm sorry I've had to come apologise and justify what Frank wrote in the programme. Your always going to defend your team but this was a personal attack on me and whilst it happens you don't expect it from the chairman from a rival team no mind to broadcast it in the programme. Perhaps he should spend more time filling the 10+ roles he has at the club rather than scouring comments on away team forums.
Thanks once again to Kev for his contact and appreciative words, you've got a great team but I feel for you with such a control freak at the helm.
