This is not so much a favourite match , as I can't really remember much about the actual game.I think it was a testimonial match (maybe for Wally Bennett) , and it was Everton XI v Skem at White Moss Park.Mustve been early 70s sometime. It was a genuine Everton team as well , not just youth team reserves. I think the legendary Alan Whittle, John Hurst, and Jimmy Husband were playing. What I can deffo remember is that Gordon 'Mae' West was playing for the Toffees. At the end of the game I'd waited around for some autographs with a few others(as i was only young then , 27) ,and eventually the great man emerged from the clubhouse. "Autograph please Gordon ?" "F@*k Off !!" the ex-England legend replied he then jumped in his car , and reversed it into the concrete fence next to the turnstiles putting a large dent in his prized motor (was probably a capri or similar) , before heading out of the carpark at top speed. anybody remember the game, date, score ?

Reminds of an incident (not Skem related) when we went down on the train for a Wembley Cup Final. Just short of Euston, Bobby Charlton was spotted in 'first class'. As we arrived at Euston, one of our party (The Bull) chased after Charlton and asked him for his autograph. Charlton more or lest told him to go away (less polite). The Bull slightly taken aback at his lack of class, then gave him a reply - "I'll tell thee what, tha'll never be the gentlemen that your Jackie is. Art jealous because The Bull has a full head of hair and thy hasn't?" Needless to say, the rest of the lads fell about laughing, while Charlton sloped off.
