Not many people seem to like our ground do they,personally i dont think it is that bad

Positives

Good pitch
No obstuctive views
Decent crowds
Good food
Ample parking
Good Stewards
Friendly locals
Very fair admission charges(kids in free with adult)
Room for expansion for when we reach higher levels
Decent clubhouse.

Negatives

In the middle of an industrial estate
Would like to see the food being sreved back in the purpose built canteen(it looks more professional)
The DJ and match day announcer can be a bit cheesy at times

That is all the negatives i can think of and i had to really think hard to find them. Lets not forget we are in non league football, what would be the point of spending thousands of pounds on new stands etc when you are only getting 300 a game, build as we grow is the way to do it , which i think is exactly what we are doing.

I think that Skem were sold short by the council when they moved into the new ground a few years ago.Curzon Ashton's ground for example is far better than Skem's,with plenty of cover.Trafford's ground is a good one as well with cover on 3 sides and wouldn't cost a fortune to have something similar.
It's a difficult situation though because the money obviously isn't there for ground improvement's and as you say there's no point in having a fantastic ground without a team to match.
The economic situation is hardly likely to change in the foreseeable future either,unless skem find a rich benefactor from somewhere!

Helping local sports/and the Borough Council
does not sing off the same hymn sheet I'm afraid.
Unless you are of course, in the Central Lancashire region
or North-East Lancs area, then you just might have a chance.
Just read the 'propaganda ' newspaper issued by Lancs County Council -
Skem very rarely gets a mention.

sound to me that most of them just don't like the DJ at our ground & that sounds bad on john tiily but we all know that its not tilly & i will be honest frank dose make a bit of a cock of him self some times on the mic!!!!

but if it annoys the away crowd let frank get on with it!!!!
